DPD Geram Lingga Conducts Friendly Visit to LBH Tuah Keadilan in Lingga Regency
Lingga - The Regional Leadership Council of the Malay Youth Generation (DPD Geram) in Lingga conducted a friendly visit to the office of the Legal Aid Institute (LBH) Tuah Keadilan in Lingga Regency. This visit was carried out as part of their efforts to strengthen the relationship between civil society organizations and legal institutions. The meeting, held with warmth, involved sharing and discussing crucial issues faced by the community.
The presence of DPD Geram Lingga in this friendly visit aimed to establish closer communication with LBH Tuah Keadilan, an institution consistently dedicated to providing legal assistance to citizens in need. The meeting took place on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at the LBH Tuah Keadilan office located on Jl.Telex, Tanjung Harapan Village, Lingga Regency, Riau Islands Province.
The representatives from DPD Geram Lingga were warmly welcomed by the LBH Tuah Keadilan team, including the LBH advocate, Mr. Angga Siagian, SH. MH. During the introduction session, the DPD Geram Lingga delegation and the LBH Tuah Keadilan team shared information on various matters concerning the rights of citizens and provided suggestions and input for the development of DPD Geram Lingga, especially in terms of advocacy.
Mr. Juli Wahyudi, the Chairman of DPD Geram Lingga, expressed sincere intentions in making this friendly visit with the hope of strengthening synergy between civil society organizations and legal institutions. He stated, "We appreciate the role of LBH Tuah Keadilan in Lingga Regency, always at the forefront of defending justice and providing legal aid to the community in need. We hope that through a closer collaboration, we can together address various legal issues faced by the community in Lingga Regency."
Meanwhile, Mr. Angga Siagian, SH. MH, the Chairman of LBH Tuah Keadilan, welcomed the initiative of DPD Geram Lingga in conducting this friendly visit and hoped that this cooperation would bring positive benefits to both Geram and the community, particularly in providing legal aid and access to justice. He emphasized, "We are committed to continue fighting for justice and the protection of citizens' rights in Lingga Regency. With the support of DPD Geram Lingga, LBH is further encouraged to advocate for the community."
During the meeting, several crucial issues of mutual concern were discussed in-depth. One of them was the environmental issue and the provision of access to justice for marginalized communities in Lingga Regency. In this regard, LBH Tuah Keadilan continued to strive to provide legal services equally throughout the regency.
DPD Geram Lingga also conveyed several aspirations related to environmental issues and the development of mining infrastructure that might negatively impact the surrounding residents. They hoped to collaborate with LBH Tuah Keadilan in seeking solutions and advocating for the interests of the community.
With the conclusion of this friendly visit, both parties agreed to establish a closer cooperation in safeguarding justice, human rights, and the environment in Lingga Regency.
